In the cylinder of the water jacket furnace, components such as a fire tube, smoke tube, and oil pan tube are installed, occupying a part of the space of the cylinder. The remaining space is filled with water, but water cannot be filled, which is one-third of the cylinder.
After the fuel is burned in the fire tube, the heat generated is transferred to the water in the water jacket through radiation, convection, and other forms of heat transfer, causing the temperature of the water to rise and partially vaporize. The water and its steam then transfer the heat to the crude oil in the oil coil, causing the oil to obtain heat and increase the temperature. The use of this indirect heating method is to prevent crude oil from coking.
